OMV hydrocarbon production reached 116,300 bep/day, în Q1, 2023
In quarter 1, 2023, OMV Petrom had a hydrocarbon production of 116,300 bep/day, 4.13% lower than in the same period of 2022 (121,300 bep/day), according to data sent to Bucharest Stock Exchange.
Crude production was 56,000 bep/day (minus 4%), while that of natural gas was 60,300 bep/day (minus 4.3%).
In the first three months of the ongoing year, the total hydrocarbon sales volume was 111,400 bep/day, 4.4% lower than in quarter 1, 2022. Crude and condensed sales dropped by 4%, to 59,100 bep/day, while that of natural gas dropped by 5% to 52,300 bep/day.
In exchange,total refined product sales went up by 2.4% to 1.24 million tons. Gas sales to third parties amounted to 11.06 TWh (plus 3.75%).
Net electricity production at Brazi power plant was 0.97 TWh, dropping by 2.02% compared to January-March 2022.
OMV Petrom is the largest power company in South-Eastern Europe, with an annual crude and gas production of 43 million bep in 2022. The group has a refining capacity of 4.5 million tons per year and operates a high efficiency electric power plant of 860 MW. In the retail oil product market, the Group is present in Romania and in neighboring countries by means of 780 gas stations, under the OMV and Petrom brands.
OMV Petrom is a company where Romanian shareholders own over 42% of shares ( of which the Romanians state owns 20.7%, while 21.7% are owned by pension funds in Romania to which 500,000 individual investors and other Romanian entities are added). OMV Aktiengesellschaft, one of the largest listed Austrian industrial companies, owns 51.2% of OMV Petrom shares, while the rest of 6.4% are held by other foreign investors. 28.1% of company shares are quoted freely at Bucharest Stock Exchange and London Stock Exchange.
OMV Petrom is one of the largest contributors to the state budget with 39 billion euros representing taxes and dividends paid over 2005-2022. Over that period of time, the company invested about 17 billion euros. In 2022, taxes paid by OMV Petrom ensured 7% of Romania's fiscal incomes.
