Romania is open to investments for ensuring energy independence
Romania invests much to develop a strategic concept of energy independence, so Russia can never stop Romania's and the Republic of Moldova's regular functioning using the energy supply, Prime Minister Victor Ponta said on Wednesday in a joint press statement with US Vice President Joe Biden.
The Romanian Prime Minister added that, in the discussion with the US Vice President, he underscored the importance of the investments Romania made from budget sources, European funding and private funding to develop a strategic concept, namely for 'energy independence.'
'Romania invests very much, it is open to investments, to be able to ensure, both for Romania and for the Republic of Moldova, an energy independence as consistent as possible in the current crisis conditions, an independence providing us guarantees for the population of Romania and the Republic of Moldova, for the economy of Romania and the Republic of Moldova, that Russia can never stop these two countries' regular functioning using the energy supply,' Prime Minister Victor Ponta said.
