The final consumption of electricity dropped with 1.6% in Q1

The final consumption of electricity was, in Q1 of this year of 14,451 billion kWh less than the similar period of 2018, but the consumption of the population was increased with 12%, says on Monday the National Institute for Statistics.

Public lightning registered during the period under discussion growth of 5.7% and the technological one in networks and stations dropped by 248.9 million kWh at almost 1.801 billion kWh. The export of electricity was 862.6 million kWh dropping  by 968.6 million kWh.


Between 1 January 0 31 March 2019 the resources of primary energy dropped by 1.9% and those of electricity diminished by 7.8% against the same period of last year.
The main resources of primary energy had the total of 8.725 million tons equivalent petroleum (tep) dropping by 172,800 tep against the first three months of 2018.

The domestic production surpassed 5.167 million tep,dropping by 184,100 tep against the same period of the previous year and the import was 3,557 million tep.

During the same period, the resources of electricity were 17,114 billion kWh dropping by 1,446 billion kWh against the same period of 2018.

The production in the thermal power units was almost 7.078 billion kWh dropping by 1.163 billion kWh (-14.1%) and that in hydropower units was 3.471 billion kWh, dropping by 971.3 million kWh (-21.9%). The production in the nuclear power units was 2.979 billion kWh up by 28.3 million kWh (+1%).

The production in the windpower units was 2.121 billion kWh up by 73.6 million kWh against the same period of the previous year and solar energy produced in photovoltaic installations during the same period was 340.5 million kWh up by 91.5 million kWh.
