The leadership of Transelectrica and Transgaz meet on Thursday with the European commissionaire for energy in Brussels
The managers of the companies Transelectrica and Transgaz meet on Thursday in Brussels the European commissionaire for energy Gunther Oettinger for a discussion on the issue of the activity of the two energy companies, sources in the two companies stated.
“The request for this meeting came from the European Union from the office of the European commissionaire for energy. We were not required a certain topic of discussion but we will discuss about the activity of the companies in general, about the way we act on the energy market of Romania” one of the sources said. Transelectrica is the operator of the National Market for Electricity and Transgaz, the operator of the National Market for Gas. European directives regarding the majority shareholder of operators for energy and gas transport say they should not be the same as the producers in the same sectors. Transgaz and Transelectrica were until last year included in the ministry of economy but Romania had to apply the directives and the two companies were transferred to the ministry of public finances.
