Transgaz bought natural gas of 2.83 million euro from WIEE Romania
The national transporter of gas Transgaz Medias bought natural gas for physical balancing of the National System of Transport worth 13.16 million lei (2.83 million euro) without VAT, from WIEE Romania, one of the strongest importers of Russian gas on the local market.
The acquisition was made through negotiation, through the stock exchange of goods.
Transgaz closed five contracts with WIEE Romania, out of which two are worth 2.1 million lei each, two of 3.35 million lei and a contract is is worth almost 2.24 million lei, all the sums being without VAT.
WIEE Romania was set up in 2000, with private integrated capital, being controlled by the Gazprom Schweiz company, registered in Switzerland.
The importer of Russian gas on the local market registered in 2016 business of 431.35 million lei, up by 15.5% against the previous year. At the same time, the profit increased by 47% at 6.5 million lei, according to the last data available at the ministry of finances.
The company is part of the Federation of Associations of Companies of Utilities in Energy (ACUE) set up in 2012 and which includes 30 members.
The other company on the Romanian market through which the Russians from Gazprom exports gas to Romania is Conef Gaz.
Transgaz had last year a net profit of 602 million lei, up by over 1% against last year, to the preliminary data of the company.
The total debt reached 1.53 billion lei, up against the level registered at the end of 201, of 1.52 billion lei.
Transgaz is the technical operator of the national system of transport and is responsible for the functioning in conditions of safety, economic efficiency and protection of the environment.
The majority shareholder of the transporter is the ministry of economiy, which controls 58.5% of the shares.
The company has a capitalisation of 4.73 billion lei.
