Almost one billion euro was taken out of Romania over the last five years

Almost one billion euro was taken out of Romania in the last five years and with this money we could have made many projects, stated on Friday Ionut Misa general manager of the General Department of Administration of Big Tax-payers in National Tax Administration (ANAF) when referring to the transfer prices.

" ‘Only from 5 companies which function in the domain of oil, retail, tobacco and commerce with electronics there were made adjustments of 87 million lei. Only 5 companies, think what it means at national level. The general departments of big tax-payers has today 1,500 companies in the portfolio. The sums are big, very big. A study we have made at the beginning of 2015 on a portfolio of 2,500 companies took us to the conclusion that almost one billion euro in the last five years was taken out of Romania. With these sums we could have made extremely many projects in Romania and we could have brought major benefits to the Romanians’ Misa said.

According to him, a company in the domain of tobacco acquired tobacco from another subsidiary affiliated in a member country at a very big price which they sell in Romania at an extremely low profit margin.

‘In Romania they paid almost nothing, and in the respective country they took all the profit. We managed to identify this type of tradings and we managed to make adjustments of 12.3 million lei’ said the ANAF official.

At the same time, the ANAF representative said that there are companies which have a global network and import different goods and services from the other countries at a very high value which they sell in Romania.

‘There are companies in the auto domain which have a rate of the profit of 2% every year. It is very difficult to have a constant rate of profit. There is an economic cycle, there is a business environment. To get 2% every year it is very good consultancy, you benefit from very good experience in this area, with very good techniques which they use’ according to the head of the Department for Big Taxpayers.

He said that the Department of Big Taxpayers collect almost 50% of the income to the budget and administers all the big companies with big turnover and big volumes.
