Lucian Anghel: BVB will have access to the funds of 20-30 times higher when it comes an emerging market
The Stock Exchange Bucharest (BVB) will have access to funds of 20-30 times higher which the investors are willing to invest, the moment it gets to the statute of emerging market, from that of bordermarket which has now, stated on Saturday Lucian Anghel the chairman of the Board of BVB present at the Forum of Individual Investors.
He reminded that at the end of September Romania was included officially in Watchlist, the list of countries which present a substantial potential to get to the statute of emerging market.
‘This will not happen very soon, but in years’ time. From a qualitative point of view we meet all the criteria, but we don’t meet the quantitative one, which we hope we will meet when Hidroelectrica is listed. We believe in this project, it is a country project. The decision-makers support us and we hope to see the listing of Hidroelectrica next year, which will be an essential element for upgrading’ the chairman of the board of BVB said.
In his turn, Ludwik Sobolewschi, the general manager of BVB present at the same event, showed that the passing to the statute of emerging market could take place in September of next year.
‘We could have the chance in September next year but some conditions must be met very soon, this depends on the listing of Hidroelectrica’ Sobolewschi said.
At the beginning of October Victor Grigorescu, minister of energy stated that the listing of Hidroelectrica could take place in maximum six months and can be one of the most profitable listings which the Romanian state has ever made.
‘It is difficult to establish a deadline for the listing as beyond the technical element, we have to analyse the market situation. I think that this listing will happen in six months probably, but I wouldn’t want to speculate,as we have to choose the best moment on the market’ Grigorescu said.
Asked which could be from his point of view the threshold which could consider the listing of Hidroelectrica a success, Victor Grigorescu did not want to advance any figure.
At the beginning of September Ovidiu Agliceru the chairman of the directorate of the energy producer stated that the listing on the BVB of Hidroelectrica could be made at the middle of next year, after the situation of the 17 investment projects has been established which were started before 1989 and were not finalised.
