Committee on Migration of the Council of Europe (PACE) will hold a meeting in Bucharest on Thursday and Friday

The members of the Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will hold a meeting in Bucharest on Thursday and Friday. 

"The PACE Committee holding a meeting in Romania is in line with the demarches of multilateral parliamentary diplomacy, aiming to promote Romania's objectives in terms of migration, refugees and displaced persons, in the context of cooperation and intercultural dialogue at European level," the Chamber of Deputies reports in a release on Wednesday. 

According to this source, the main topics to be approached by the PACE Committee are: migration issues in Romania, new developments of migration at Romania's borders, human trafficking. 

Attending the meeting will be MPs of the Council of Europe member states, members of the Committee on migration, refugees and displaced persons, representatives of the committee's international secretariat, experts, diplomats. 

The agenda of the meeting includes debates on the report "Criminalisation of irregular migrants: a crime without victim", rapporteur the deputy Ionut Stroe, the head of Romania's Permanent Delegation to PACE and member of the Migration Committee.
