Florin Georgescu : We have good signs as regards the economy

The vicegovernor of BNR Florin Georgescu stated on Friday in Brasov, after a conference at the Universitatea Transilvania, that the economy of Romania has good signs for growth, which is proven bz the oversubscription of the latest emission of Romanian bonds.

0.2 in 2012 although we had started with higher estimates, this was the domestic and international achievement, then 1.8 or some say 1.6 for 2013, 2.5 in 2014, 3.5 in 2015 so that the economic growth is estimated higher and higher every year. I repeat, this depends on us, then on our foreign partners if they become confident in the Romanian economy. We already have good signs. On Thursday there was an emission of state bonds which drew investors at a cost of 4.5% to the dollar, which is 1% less than what they drew one day before in a neighbouring country. They oversubscribed, namely the offer of money was five times bigger than the demand of the Romanian party, so that, foreign investment comes, it is money available in the world, they came in the governmental area and this could lead to an indirect economic increase’ Florin Georgescu said.

The resources are no longer as generous in the foreign environment, less those at the disposal to be used with all efficiency and correctness’ Georgescu said.

As regards the advice which he would give those in the economic domain for the economic growth, the vicegovernor of BNR stated that we should base on the potential, to design profits for the companies, to stimulate their investment and not in other parts, to ensure the accelerated attraction of European funds which could contribute to the achievement of many projects of infrastructure, of economic competitiveness growth in all domains, especially in agriculture or environment protection.

‘We have to draw foreign investors through viable projecs and behaviour which support their investment here, the improvement of infrastructure, a coherent and hierarchical governmental policy. As priorities both can contribute to economicgrowth which could be better, for a higher GDP from one year to another, including through the insurance of a fairer division’,Florin Georgescu said.
