Romanian Government gives up one target for euro adoption

The government will send to the European Commission (CE) a convergence programme which will not include, by comparison to the recent years, a target for the adoption of the euro, stated for Mediafax official sources. “ There will not be a fixed date, and the convergence programme will include again such a target when Romania will meet real criteria” the sources showed.At the beginning of the year, premier Ponta announced that Romania’s accession to the euro zone in 2015 does not mean a credible target, but the objective should not be abandoned, the horizon for the finalisation of the process being now around 2020.
