4 million euro investment in a unit for the production of electricity in Azomures
The biggest producer of fertilisers for agriculture in Romania, Azomures, announced that they will place an investment of four million euro in a unit for electricity production which will lead to the reduction of the carbon dioxide emissions, so that they can adapt to the requests of the programmed Green Deal of the European Commission.
The Azomures spokesperson, Ovidiu Maior, stated that the new electrical unit will generate 5% of the annual consumption of electricity necessary on the industrial platform, will reduce the costs with energy by 4% and will be put to work in first part of 2022.
‘The unit will have power of 2.65MW and will cover between 5% and 6% of the necessary of electricity of the unit. To make a comparison,the unit could supply electricity to over 4,600 families everyday.At the same time,the unit will bring for Azomures a reduction of 4% of the costs with electricity. Azomures signed with E.ON Energie Romania a contract for the turn key delivery of the new electrical unit which will use as raw material residual steam generated by the activity of the factory. Among the advantages of the technology of steam turbines must be mentioned: long life duration, exploitation safety, being a technology at its maturity, as well as the possibility to function with any kind of fuel’ the Azomures representative said.
