As compared to the regional ranking Fast 50, launched in October 2015, Romania has three new companies: Accesa IT Consulting, dcs plus and Gama IT
The ranking which is at its 15th edition is an initiative of the technology, media and telecom group (TMT) Deloitte, at global level and places the Dutch company for online bidding Catawiki the first in the top. As a whole, the EMEA region recorded a rate of growth of income of 1,012% for the companies representing over 20 countries.
The companies which qualify in this top could be private or public, but they need to belong to the technology domain and be placed in the EMEA region. A ‘technological’ company is one which develops or owns patented technology, which contributes significantly to the income obtained by the company, or which produces something connected to technology or which is dedicated, mostly, to research and technological development. The use of technology developed by other companies in a unique way does not allow qualification in the Deloitte ranking.
France dominated the ranking again with the highest number of companies in the top, for the fifth year in a row, the other companies of the top 5 coming from the Uk, Norway, the Netherlands and Sweden. Two companies in Israel were present in top 5 and four from top 10 originate in the UK.
The software sector represented 52% of the total this year, followed by media with 18%. Communications had a contribution of 10%, hardware – 10%, pharma – 6% and clean technologies- 4%.
