Romarm manager: 2012 the worst year in company history
Romarm ended 2012 with losses of 800,000 lei and it was the worst year in company history, the general manager of the company, Dan Tache declared. He added that 2013 was the same as 2011, a good year.“The year 2013 is in the same growing trend. It is my target to have exports at least 2.5 times higher than last year,” Tache said.
On the other hand he showed that 95.9% of company production went to export in 2012. “Our main source of existence and income are exports. The Romanian market undergoes some budget constrictions and then we found exports with our own activity,” the manager explained.
He answered, when asked about Romania’s main export markets for the defense industry. “Markets were not 100% lost , We are present everywhere in the world. Once the EU accession and NATO inclusion we adopted other compatibilities and it is natural that our industry should be oriented toward our strategic military partners.”
Romarm company was set up in 2000 after the unification of the Romanian arms industry that had a 75 year old tradition and had been the biggest supplier of military equipment, ammunition and maintenance services in Romania.
The capital of Romarm is 100% Romanian state under the authority of the Ministry of Economy.
