Why the Romanian companies do not go on the foreign markets
The Romanian companies should be encouraged to test the foreign markets, as this move would open access to a market with 500 million consumers, considers the economic analyst Aurelian Dochia.
Local companies do not know and do not have the courage to go on foreign markets. There are few companies with Romanian shareholders who look at foreign markets and it is a pity as, after accession to the EU they have access to a common market of 500 million consumers’ Dochia said.
The statistics show that Romania’s exports are supported by a few companies and those are foreign. An example is Dacia which has become the biggest exporter for some years and is still the best.
Aurelian Dochia says that Romania has become a market which relies on exports – almost half- on the auto domain, with finite products and spare parts. ‘The auto industry in Romania was thought to be dedicated almost completely to export. There is a positive evolution of exports which rely on the auto industry, by comparison to what happened some years ago when the top was dominated by the companies in the textile industry and footwear industry. Now the gross added value increased’ Dochia said.
The exports increased in 2015 by 4.1% up to 54.6 billion euro and imports by 7.6% up to almost 63 billion euro.
