AHK Romania backs new changes brought by order referring to “Kurzarbeit”
The Romanian-German business environment backs and encourages the bill including adjustments and changes in the “Kurzarbeit” program backing Romanian companies, according to a press release of the Romanian-German Chamber of Trade (AHK).
In Germany, this instrument was a great help for companies in the crisis period, and even though there are things to be improved, present amendments are a step to the right direction, Romanian- German businessmen say.
“Especially the possibility to reduce by 80% the employees labour time, one of the demands of AHK Romania is encouraging, as well as the fact that amendments to the law are according to company needs,” the president of AHK Romania, Dragos Anastasiu says.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, AHK Romania has often pointed out the importance and need of introducing Kurzarbeit, based on the experience of other states, Germany in particular, where this instrument has been successfully working for more than a century.
It would be important for this law to be applied in the future, even with no connection to the present pandemic, to become continuous and, through open dialogue between the business environment and the government, to find solutions for improvement, the press release shows.
AHK Romania is the official representative of German economy and at the same time the biggest bilateral chamber of trade in Romania. It includes over 600 member companies, offering them an important platform for networking, exchange of information and experience as well as business consulting.
