Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, included in the Life Sciences rankings

The Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, the only Romanian university included in the Life Sciences rankings on the 401+ spot, preserves its place among the most prestigious universities in the world through its programmes, according to data published recently by Times Higher Education/THE, the Communication department with UBB announces in a press release sent on Thursday.

As regards Business&Economics, UBB ranks 501+, along "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University in Iasi, the Bucharest University and the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, the rankings assessing the Business & Management, Economy and Finance-Accounting programmes.

The Babes-Bolyai University is also present in the rankings of Social Sciences, placed on the 601+ position, alongside "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University in Iasi, in the same rankings being also the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (in the 501-600 range). The rankings corresponding to Social Sciences were based on the assessment of programmes of Communication and Media Studies, Geography, Sociology and Political and International Studies.

"These outstanding results must be appreciated by reference to the chronic underfinancing of higher education in Romania. The results and positioning in the prestigious international rankings reconfirms the status of Babes-Bolyai University and the high degree of trust it has," the UBB Vice-Rector responsible for Research, Competitiveness-Excellence and Scientific Publications, Daniel David states.
