BNR's profit in 2019: 1.8 billion lei, increasing by 52 pct over 2018
The National Bank of Romania (BNR) obtained in 2019 a profit of 1.797 billion lei, by 52 pct (613.929 million lei) more than that recorded in the previous year, of 1.183 billion lei, according to the annual report of the BNR on 2019.
"The financial result registered on December 31, 2019 was profit totaling 1.797 billion lei, by 52 pct (613.929 million lei) over the one recorded last year (1.183 billion lei), as a result, mainly, of the following evolutions: obtaining an operational profit totaling 1.905 billion lei, by 27 pct (410.104 million lei over the operational profit of last year (1.495 billion lei), the recording of costs with the unfavorable differences from re-evaluation corresponding to the assets and liabilities in foreign currency totaling 108.510 million lei, by 65 pct (-205.285 million lei) under the level noted on December 31, 2018 (313.795 million lei)," the report mentions.
In 2019, the National Bank of Romania continued to consolidate its financial position, in the context of attempting to accomplish the objective of maintaining price stability and an efficient administration of the assets and liabilities in foreign currency, the report also says.
