Catalin Ivan: A larger PSD group is working on new project

The group of social democrats working on a new PSD project will publish their ideas early next year, said PSD Euro MP Catalin Ivan.

According to Ivan, there are fewer people around the present leader Liviu Dragnea and the new project has in view to modernize PSD.

“There is a growing group in PSD, working on a new project for PSD and it will be made public next year. It is a complex project, with all that means internal functioning mechanisms of a modern party. There are fewer and fewer people around Dragnea, it is clear he kept this party captive with people coming from outside the party. He controls what can still be controlled with people from PD (ex-democrat party ) and PRM ( former extreme right Great Romania party) - Darius Valcov from PD, Codrin Stefanescu and Olguta Vasilescu from PRM. For the rest, people are dissatisfied with the way in which the party is functioning or the situation of PSD. We will suggest a new project within PSD,”Ivan said.

In his opinion, the party has members who have always been social democrats and want to avoid PSD from having the fate of PNTCD ( the Christian Democrat peasant party).

“We, old party members, who have been only in PSD, realised the danger and we will take attitude. Practically there is no present leadership. Dragnea is a member who fakes leading PSD. The fact that this meeting of a million members is no longer organized, that there are no meetings in the country supporting Liviu Dragnea, show that the party got disconnected from Dragnea and people surrounding him,” the European MP said.

On Thursday, Catalin Ivan participated on Thursday, at The Faculty of Economic Studies and Business Management, from Babes Bolyai University. The debate is organized by “Ro Action” Initiative Association for Development.
