CFA Romania analysts anticipate a depreciation of national curruncy for next 12 months up to 4.9777 lei/euro
CFA Romania analysts anticipate a depreciation of the national currency in the next 12 months, up to 4.9777 lei/euro, while the expected inflation rate for the 12-month horizon, September 2021/September 2020, registered an average value of 2.94 pct.
"As regards the EUR/RON exchange rate, 90 pct of participants anticipate a depreciation of the national currency in the next 12 months (compared to the current value), with no opinion of appreciation of the leu. Thus the average value of the expectations for the 6-month horizon is 4,8886, while for the 12-month horizon the average value of the anticipated rate is 4,9777 (in conditions where individual expectations ranged from 4,8500 to 5,1500). The expected inflation rate for the 12-month horizon (September 2021/September 2020) recorded an average value of 2.94 pct," reads a statement from CFA Romania submitted on Friday .
Regarding the anticipated state budget deficit for 2020, the average forecast value is 8.3 pct. In terms of real GDP growth in 2020, the average forecast value is -4.7 pct.
