China, Romania's second non EU commercial partner; 9 billion euros, total volume of commercial exchanges in 2022

The total volume of Romanian-Chinese commercial exchanges was 9 billion dollars in 2022, on the rise by 3.1% compared to the previous year, China being Romania's second commercial partner after Turkey, as non EU countries , according to data sent by the Chamber of Trade and Industry of Bicharest (CCIB).

 

The Chamber hosted a seminar presenting the biggest multisector import exhibition event in the world, China International Import Expo (CIIE), to be held over November 5-10 in Shanghai.

 

This year's edition of CIIE will be organized in 6 pavilions : food and agriculture, automobiles and automotives, intelligent industry, IT, consumer goods, medical equipment and health, trade and services, Romanian firms having the opportunity to participate in any of the mentioned sections.

 

According to CIIB data. China was the 19th destination for goods exported by Romania with a share of 1.19%, for imports and the 6th market of goods that entered Romania with a share of 5.89%. In 2022. the overall volume of Romanian-Chinese commercial exchanges of 9 billion dollars, 1.2 represent exports (- 14.3%) and 7.8 billion dollars imports (+6.3%).

 

Preiminary data for quarter 1, 2023 indicate a bilateral trade of 1.9 billion dollars and imports (export 0.3 billlion dollars and imports 1.6 billion dollars).

On April 30, 2023, in Romania there were 13,430 companies with Chinese capital, with a suscribed social capital of 407 million dollars placing 20th among investor states in Romania.
