Chinese delegation intersted in water power projects, road and rail infrastructure and agriculture in Romania
Prime Minister Emil Boc on Tuesday welcomed at Victoria Palace, the Government House in Bucharest, a delegation headed by the Deputy President of the National Assembly of the People's Republic of China Simayi Tieliwaerdi to discuss the prospects for bilateral economic cooperation under water power projects, road and rail infrastructure and agriculture.
'In view of the expected economic recovery in 2011, Romania is laying special emphasis on public-private partnerships as a solution for the country's development and modernisation that we hope will allow us to develop projects that will also enjoy Chinese participation,' the Romanian Government quotes Boc as saying in a press release.
Boc mentioned that the Romanian-Chinese Joint Cooperation Commission is already considering many projects, voicing hope that the projects that will win the agreement of both countries for implementation will be started as soon as possible.
The Vice-President of the National Assembly of the People's Republic of China Simayi Tieliwaerdi hailed in his turn the excellent bilateral relations so far and the major part played by Romania in promoting relations between the European Union and China, reads the release.
The Chinese official is quoted as saying China appreciates Romania for its cooperation and respect to China and is interested in diversifying institutional, economic and cultural cooperation with Romania. We, he said, are encouraging the business community to come up with concrete projects together with Romanian companies.
Simayi Tieliwaerdi also voiced appreciation for the substance of the relations between China and Romania despite the existing global economic and financial crisis. Also attending the meeting were Deputy Speaker of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies Ioan Oltean, State Secretary for global affairs with the Romanian Foreign Ministry Doru Costea and Chinese ambassador in Bucharest Liu Zengwen, according to the release.
