Ciolos told EU commissioner for industry Romania is interested in GEAR 2030 group
Premier Dacian Ciolos pointed out during talks with EU commissioner for industry, Elzbieta Bienkowska, the importance of facilities for the manufacture of car parts in Romania and reasserted the interest in the EC activity on GEAR 2030 group for the automobile industry.
Premier Dacian Ciolos together with deputy premier Costin Bord received the visit of the European commissioner for industry and domestic markets, Elzbieta Bienkowska, at Victoria Palace on Thursday. The main discussion topics had in view “the government target to improve the investment climate and measures it has in view to ensure predictability, transparency and stability for business in Romania,”the government informs.
Another discussion topic was the identification of the best measures to support the European iron an steel industry.
“Premier Ciolos and European commissioner Bienkowska also talked about the importance of improving the public purchase system for a durable economic growth and the project of digitalizing industry. Romania appreciates the EC support in establishing a national strategy in the field and in applying European regulations,” the government considers.
"The main discussion topics were aimed at the Government's objective of improving the investment climate and the measures considered for ensuring the predictability, transparency and stability of the business environment in Romania. To this end, the Prime Minister mentioned including the public administration reform. An important discussion theme was identifying the best measures to support the European the iron and steel industry," the release also reads.
The officials also approached the importance of improving the public procurement system for a sustainable economic growth and the project of digitizing industry.
"Romania appreciates the support of the European Commission in creating a national strategy in the area and in transposing the European regulations," the release mentions.
