Citu: Economy will look different after this period, many companies will invest in technology
Economy will look a bit different after this crisis period, we will have many companies investing in technology, and the government will have a challenge to create jobs and keep here the one million Romanians who came back from abroad, finance minister Florin Citu considers.
“Before the crisis, Romania had a problem with labour force. It would be a pity not to succeed in creating jobs to keep these people in the country. I think we will succeed in doing that with this relaunch program based on investments. Let's keep as many people in Romania as possible,” Citu said on Monday at Romania TV.
Jobs could be created in the retail sector where, according to him, they need 10,000 people, or in HoReCa industry. The minister estimates that many companies will invest in technology and people will be needed for these sectors. At the same time, Citu announced that measures of fiscal stimulation for entrepreneurs are being analyzed.
“Economy will look different after this period of time. We will have many companies investing in technology, in IT. Labor force will be needed for these sectors. Romanian economy has already started. Investments made in the public sector cannot be set up in the private sector. Resources we have will mostly go to investments,” the MFP official said.
The finance minister mentioned that there are elements that show that purchase power will grow in Romania even when the inflatio9n rate and interest rates are dropping.
