Cooperation protocol between Romanian Academy of Medical Sciences and French Medical Academy
The protocol signed between the Academy of Medical Sciences of Romania and the Medical Academy of France is actually the possibility to continue, in an organized manner, the traditional cooperation relations between Romanian medicine and the French one, said the president of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Romania, Professor Irinel Popescu, MD, on Wednesday, October 17.
The doctor said that this cooperation had an over 100-year long tradition and that it asserted itself in different ways in the course of time.
'In the modern age, besides some common meetings, which are extremely important as they approached highly topical questions ..., we have a number of scientific exchanges in view, which concern the younger generation especially, between Romania and France, intermediated by the two academies, we have in view common publications, common articles, common subjects which we are going to deal with. I should say that, once the cooperation protocol signed, there will be more frequent meetings between the representatives of the two academies and they will surely find other forms of cooperation,' said the president of the Romanian Academy of Medical Sciences when the protocol was signed.
He said that we were through an age of globalization, in which everyone wants to contribute something to the field he or she works in and in which most often nobody can say everything.
In his turn the president of the French Academy of Medicine, Professor Andre-Laurent Parodi, MD, referred to the tradition existing in the relations between the two countries, to the scientific cooperation and voiced hope that the cooperation between the two scientific bodies would continue.
During the same event the president of the National Academy of Medicine of France, Professor Andre-Laurent Parodi, was awarded the title of honorary member of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Romania.
