Dacia – a successful online Romanian brand

Dacia is the Romanian brand most present on the Internet, the most trustworthy and the most popular, according to a Gemius Research and Evensys Study for 2011, which has in view the presence of brands in the local online.The study was made over 11-20 January 2011 on 2,300 Internet users aged 18 to 45.

Most present Romanian brands on the Internet

Dacia ranks first, with 33.1% of all answers, on the rise from 29.6% a year ago. BCR ranks second (9.5% in 2001 vs. 9.6% in 2010) and eMag (5.8% on the rise from 3.5%). Petrom is the brand with the most important drop in 2011 (4.6%) compared to 2010 (7.3%).

Most trustworthy Romanian brands on the Internet

Dacia ranks first in this section with a share of 26.5% of answers in 2011, against 27.4% in 2010. Borsec is second (7.3% against 4.9% in 2010) and BCR slightly dropping from 7.4% in 2010 to 7.2% in 2011.

Most popular Romanian brands on the Internet

Dacia ranks first, dropping from 32.8% in 2010 to 30% in 2011. Rum chocolate is second at big distance from Dacia (8% in 2011, against 3.5% in 2010). Ursus is third – 7.3% compared to 5.6% in 2010.In the telecommunications segment most respondents named Orange as the best known brand, followed by Vodafone and Cosmote. Romtelecom ranks fourth, followed by RDS-RCS, Digi, Zapp and UPC.

What does online presence of a brand define

Most respondents said the most important thing is for the brand to have data about its products or services very visible, while contact details should be available. The image of a brand must be impeccable and in continuous improvement (site, banners, design) in order to be efficient online. Its products and services should also be available for purchase online.

Most respondents consider that a successful brand should have high quality products or services. It should be known and its productsservices should sell very well.
