DNA investigatest the adoption of the emergency ordinance on the modification of the Criminal Codes
Prosecutor General Augustin Lazar said on Thursday that the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) has an ongoing case in regards to the adoption of the emergency ordinance on the modification of the Criminal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code.
"There is a DNA investigation and, for more data, please consult DNA's Press Office. So you may have some concrete data, not have me tell you some things that aren't accurate. (...) There is a case under DNA's investigation which has a certain connection," Augustin Lazar said, before the beginning of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) meeting.
The National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) informs that it registered a notification filed by several individuals concerning possible offenses in respect to the modality of adopting some normative acts and that procedural steps are being conducted.
The DNA clarification comes following the requests made by mass media representatives.
"A notification, filed by several individuals concerning possible offenses in respect to possible offenses under the institution competency regarding the modality of adopting some normative acts, was registered at the National Anticorruption Directorate. Thus, in accordance with the criminal process provisions, procedural steps are conducted regarding the aspects notified. We point out that, when the circumstances allow it, we'll be able to provide additional details," a DNA release sent to on Thursday reads.
The Justice Ministry (MJ) confirmed that it received a request from the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) to send all the original documents connected to the draw up and issue of the emergency ordinance on the modification of the Criminal Codes, as well as to the pardon draft law.
