EIB Group grants Romania financial support worth 865 million euro in 2019
The Group of the European Investment Bank, comprising the European Investment Bank (EIB) and its subsidiary, the European Investment Fund (EIF), granted Romania 865 million euro in the form of loans, guarantees, risk capital and microfinancing for 2019, the Public Finance Ministry (MFP) informs.
According to a release of the institution, sent on Thursday, the support of the public and private sectors in domains such as industry, energy, education and services, as well as the facilitation of investments from smaller companies, represent in total around 0.4 pct of Romania's GDP on last year.
The EIB Vice-President, Andrew McDowell, said, in a conference held on Thursday in Bucharest, that a number of 10,200 companies benefited from the operations of the EIB Group and approximately 107,000 jobs were supported.
With 27 employees, the regional office in Bucharest is the largest JASPERS office and constitutes a regional center of know-how for Southeast Europe. The experts in other JASPERS offices contribute additional know-how for projects in the region.
