European Food, Hunedoara Power Complex and SRTV, the biggest debts to the state

European Food, Hunedoara Energy Complex and the Romanian Television Society have the biggest debts to the state, according to data published by National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) on Tuesday.

According to the list of big tax payers with debts to the state budget, European Foods owes 400.8 million lei (where 400.1 million lei represent contested fiscal obligations) ranks first in the debtors list. It is followed by Hunedoara Energy Complex with 174.7 million lei and the Romanian Television Society with 170.3 million lei.

Doly-Com ranks fourth with 101.7 million lei, of which 96.4 million lei is contested. Public Games is fifth with debts of 89.4 million lei.

According to ANAF, 186 big tax payers with debts of over 100,000 lei register overall fiscal obligations of 1.60 billion lei, of which 1.92 billion lei are main payment obligations and 684 million lei are accessory obligations.

“2,486 medium tax payers with debts over 50,000 lei have unpaid fiscal obligations of 3.80 billion lei, of which 2.85 billion lei are main payment obligations and 950 million lei are accessory obligations. 316 million lei are contested. Since the number of tax payers who decided to pay their debts or to clarify their fiscal situation over 25.04- 29.04. 2016 and in order to ensure the publication of correct information, the list of small tax payers, public institutions, natural persons with fiscal obligations resulting from independent economic activities or liberal professions with debts over 10,000 lei, and natural persons with debts over 1,500 lei will be published next week,” says a press release of the Agency.

The list of debtors with unpaid fiscal obligations will be published based on art., 162 of the Fiscal Procedure Code, approved by law 207/2015. Unpaid debts will be published on the ANAF website and the Procedure for the publication of debtors’ lists and unpaid fiscal obligations were approved by OPANAF 558/2016. Tax payers with fiscal debts were notified and were offered the possibility to clarify their fiscal situation,” the press release shows.
