Eurostat:Romania, highest annual inflation rate in EU, in February
Romania recorded the highest annual inflation rate among the 27 member states of the European Union (EU) in February, of 4.8 per cent, in a context in which the inflation rate decreased to 1.8 per cent in the Eurozone and to 2 per cent in the EU, according to a revised estimate released on Friday by the European Statistical Office (Eurostat).
The lowest annual inflation rates were recorded last month in Greece (0.1 per cent), Portugal (0.2 per cent) and Latvia (0.3 per cent), and the highest ones were in Romania (4.8 per cent), Estonia (4 per cent) and the Netherlands (3.2 per cent).
In February, compared to the previous month, annual inflation rose in six EU member states, decreased in 17 states and remained stable in 6.
The lowest median price rise in the last 12 months was recorded in Greece (0.7 per cent), Sweden (0.9 per cent) and Latvia (1.8 per cent), and the highest one was seen by Hungary (5.2 per cent), Estonia (4.1 per cent) and Romania (3.8 per cent).
