IRES poll: Spain, Romania's best friend
Spain is seen as Romania's best friend, while Hungary comes at the opposite end, reads the opinion poll conducted by the Romanian Institute for Assessment and Strategy (IRES), in this March.
'The research shows that in terms of Romania's relation to other countries, most Romanians (88 percent) said that Spain, followed by the Republic of Moldova (85 percent), Italy (84 percent), Austria (82 percent), Bulgaria (81 percent) and the United States (80 percent) are Romania's best friends, whereas less friendly are seen countries like Hungary (41% foe vs. 43% friend), Russia (27% foe vs. 50% friend), France (13% saying it is rather an enemy, although 78% see it as a friend) and Great Britain (11% foe vs. 75% friend)', the opinion poll concluded.
Likewise, 56 percent of the respondents said that Romania's ties to Hungary are good, and 1 percent only answered they are very good, while 83 percent believe that Romania's relations to other EU countries are good, 6 percent said they are very good, 9 percent said they are bad, 1 percent answering they are very bad.
IRES opinion poll has been carried out in March, on a representative sample numbering 1,267 people, and it has an error margin of 2.8 percent.
