FBI director's visit strengthens solid U.S.-Romanian law enforcement partnership
The US Embassy in Bucharest on Wednesday reported that FBI Director Christopher Wray's visit to Bucharest strengthens the solid partnership between the United States and Romania in law enforcement.
"FBI Director Christopher Wray, together with US Ambassador to Romania Kathleen Kavalec, had constructive discussions with Romanian Minister of Internal Affairs Catalin Predoiu and key representatives of law enforcement agencies - Romanian Police, Romanian Border Police and Romanian Gendarmerie. Director Wray also had productive meetings with Attorney General Alex Florenta and leaders from the Ministry of Justice, the National Anticorruption Directorate and DIICOT. FBI Director Christopher Wray's visit to Bucharest strengthens the strong law enforcement partnership between the U.S. and Romania," the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest said in a social media post in Romanian.
Discussed at the meetings was also co-operation in combatting transnational crime.
"These important discussions focused on joint initiatives, ensuring the security of both nations and working together to fight transnational crime. We remain committed to deepening ties between the United States and Romania in vital areas."
