Finances propose second budget rectification with deficit of 2.97% of GDP and 949.6 billion lei
The Ministry of Public Finance (MFP) announced on Wednesday, that it had elaborated the draft of the second budget rectification this year, with inclusion in the budget deficit target of 2.97% of GDP.
“Economic results prove the possibility if reaching a GDP nominal value of 949.6 billion lei, against 907.9 billion lei estimated when the initial budget was fundamented this year and compared to 945 billion lei as estimated upon the elaboration of the first budget rectification. Thus, the draft budget rectification has in view to increase incomes of the general consolidated budget by 228.9 million lei, while expenses grow by 365.6 million lei,” MFP representatives announced.
Additional funds were ensured for MFP - general shares of 2.69 billion lei, of which 1 billion lei for interest rates, 671.6 million lei for Romania’s contribution to EU budget and 700 million lei for the budget reserve fund at government disposal; the Labour Ministry receives 787 million lei mainly for child allocations and rights of disabled persons; the Health Ministry gets 211.5 million lei for salary rights paid from the state budget.
Moreover, other additional incomes go to the Justice Ministry - 138.5 million lei, of which 100 million lei for staff expenses; the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration gets 85.2 million lei. 98.42 million lei were ensured for projects with foreign grants for 2014-2020 (Regional Operational Program).
Other additional funds were received by the Interior Ministry - 70.6 million lei; the budget of the single national health insurance fund gets 600 million lei for the payment of medical services, medicines with or without personal contribution and medicines used by national programs; the social security budget gets 45.4 million lei and the unemployment budget receives 82.6 million lei.
Reductions were made for projects financed from European funds at the Transport Ministry (1.16 billion lei), Ministry of Research and Innovation (228.9 million lei), the Ministry of National Education (198 million lei), the Ministry of Culture and National Identity (176.8 million lei) the Ministry of communications (166 million lei), the Ministry for European Funds (164.9 million lei), the Ministry of Public Finance (128.5 million lei), the Ministry of Waters and Forests (95.9 million lei), the Ministry for Business Environment (71.6 million lei) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (49 million lei).
The draft rectification was made following talks with representatives of the main credit ordinators of the state budget and social security budget and can be consulted on the MFP website.
