FinMin Citu: Budget incomes for 10 months higher than in same period of 2019

Finance minister Florin Citu presented on Thursday, at the government meeting, data about economy, before discussing the budget rectification. Citu says that the data he has confirm economy recovery in quarter 3 of this year and budget incomes for 10 months are higher than in the similar period of 2019.

In his turn, labor minister Violeta Alexandru, said that the number of employees was rising. “the number of employees is rising. According to the latest data released by Labor Inspection we had 15,150 more active employees in October. The number is encouraging,”said Alexandru at the beginning of the government meeting.

Citu spoke about economy recovery and presented some data.

More data were presented this week at macro level, confirming our basic scenario, with economic recovery as of quarter 3 of the year. Net income in Romania grew compared to last year by 7.8%, in a crisis period. The inflation rate continued to drop, reaching the lowest inflation level since September 2017 to the present. This  year prices continued to drop, but if we can consider the increase of the net income we see an increase of purchase power by 5%,” said the finance minister.

According to him, figures for industrial output came in on Thursday. “We have the fifth increase month for industrial output. We should say that industrial output had gone into recession in 2019, not we have the fifth month of increase and in quarter 3 we estimate we will bring back the whole sector to plus,” Citu added.

He said that all these data can be seen in incomes. “For October we will present final data on November 25, but until now we know that budget incomes  for 10 months are higher than in the same period of last year. That thing happened even though we expanded facilities for October,” Citu said

In his turn, premier Ludovic Orban announced on Thursday that next week the government will adopt the bill on budget rectification. He said the executive is “considering the budget for wach county attentively,”claiming that some of the county councils chairmen spent amounts of money which should have ensured the functioning of essential institutions like the Departments for child protection and for vulnerable  persons for actions with election character.
