Foreign Ministry welcomes adoption of resolution on American support for Initiative of Three Seas
The Romanian Foreign Ministry welcomes the adoption, by the US Chamber of Representatives, on Wednesday, of a resolution on US support for the Initiative of Three Seas.
According to a Foreign Ministry press release, “the unanimous vote in favor of this resolution of the Chamber of Representatives proves the firm bipartisan support it enjoys at the level of American legislative, the Initiative of Three Seas, as well as efforts of participating states, Romania included, which firmly and substantially backs the Initiative of increasing energy and strategic interconnection safety at infrastructure level.”
Also, the adoption of the resolution encourages the continuation of developing the economic potential of the Central and Eastern European region, with the essential US support, the quoted source points out.
The Foreign Ministry welcomes especially the reiteration of the possibility to access US financing for I3M projects and points out Romania's engagement to turn to account these opportunities to implement strategic projects of connectivity in the I3M area, next to other partners faithful to transatlantic values. Among these projects, Romania supports the carrying out of projects for projects of Constanta- Gdansk railway and the road connection Via Carpathia.
On the occasion of this visit to Washington on Wednesday, foreign minister Bogdan Aurescu pleaded, during his political consultations for the carrying out of these priority projects, with consisting American involvement and support, financial included.
The adoption of the resolution points out, once more, the Strategic Partnership between EU and the US, is indispensable to ensure the security and welfare of the two banks of the Atlantic, a context in which the Initiative of the three seas of the Large three from the perspective of transatlantic cooperation.
The US are partners of the Initiative of the Three Seas and support the role of this platforms of consolidating the Strategic Partnership between the Strategic Partnership between EU and the USA.
