ForMin Comanescu receieved his counterpart from Bosnia and Herzegovina
The Foreign Affairs Minister, Lazar Comanescu on Friday announced that he has agreed with his Bosnia and Herzegovina counterpart, Igor Crnadak on the opportunity of organizing a forum for the business persons of the two countries.
Comanescu said that the bilateral economic relationship has a way higher potential than the current one.
"That is why we have decided that it would be very good to stimulate strong contacts between the business communities of the two countries. There are also other fields for developing bilateral cooperation - infrastructure, energy, and fields such as the internal affairs, the police cooperation, the cultural cooperation, and the cooperation in the context of some larger projects at European level, such as the one of the European strategy for the Danube region and so on," said Comanescu in a joint press conference with Igor Crnadak, on a visit to Bucharest.
Romania is ready to share of its experience from the EU pre-accession period and to provide either technical assistance or know-how in negotiations' unfolding, Lazar Comanescu added.
He said that during the talks he had with his counterpart from Bosnia and Herzegovina they have made an assessment of the evolutions in the Western Balkans, agreeing that the EU could not manifest 'stronger' as an actor on the international scene without this region's integration.
In his turn, Igor Crnadak said that in the bilateral relation the sides have agreed to put the accent on the economic cooperation, specifying that the economic swaps between the two countries have attained rd 170 million euro in 2015.
In this respect, we have decided to initiate and give a maximal support to a business persons' forum, to the elite representatives of the Romanian business milieu as well as to those from Bosnia and Herzegovina, considering that this is how we could improve our economic relations, said Crnadak.
He added that Bosnia and Herzegovina labeled as successful Romania's efforts and outcome in the fight against corruption.
Bosnia and Herzegovina has recently started this fight against corruption. The Council of Ministers expressed very clearly in this respect. We are looking for (...) clear results to appear as regards the fight against corruption and we'll try to get information and support in this respect, added Igor Crnadak.
