Iasi: Chirica says that PSD needs ‘ another leadership. Another approach in the party’

The mayor of Iasi, Mihai Chirica, vice-president in the Social Democratic Party (PSD), stated on Wednesday that PSD needed another leadership, another approach to the party, adding that the chairman of the party Liviu Dragnea and his team should go to another direction.

‘I don’t know if there is need for another leader, but surely it is necessary another leadership, another approach in the PSD. Surely, we need to get our attention to some parties which developed on old structures, some traditional parties, but which at present answer to the profile of the European citizens’ Chirica said, who is also the vice-chairman of the PSD in an interview a the local radio station VivA FM Iasi.

The PSD leader mentioned that Liviu Dragnea and his team have to adapt their leadership to this direction:’ Surely, if is it not ready, it has to be done. If there is a person of resonance in the history of this party it will to adapt this leadership and the team which accompanies it every day and will need to change direction’ Chirica said.

At the same time, asked about the possible exclusion from the party Chirica said that it would not mean a disaster and other things would affect him.

‘They should exclude me from the city, not to take out out of the Ortodox Chuch as I am an orthodox, not to take my power to express myself in Romanian, not to break the binderies of the country, not to lose my national identify, these are the hard things for the country and myself’ Chirica said. The leader of the Iasi municipality stated his opinion immediately after the outburst of the protests in Victoria Square a supporter of the protesters and criticised the way in which the OUG 13/2017 was adopted, asking for abrogation and the restitution of the minister of justice Florin Iordache.At the same time, he required Liviu Dragnea ‘ to’ correct the mistakes\ with regards to the tensions a d the street protests.
