IMF and Romanian authorities to meet next week in Brussels
According to the IMF Resident Representative in Romania and Bulgaria, Guillermo Tolosa, representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and of the Romanian authorities are set to discuss next week in Brussels about the preparations for the 2nd budgetary rectification in 2014.
'We are going to meet in Brussels to discuss the recent economic developments and the current stage of implementation of the agreed commitments in the key fields of the programme. Our teams also intends to discuss with the Romanian authorities about the preparations for the 2nd budgetary rectification this year. The meetings will take place in Brussels, following an invitation from the European Commission. This will count as an informal exchange of opinions and not as an official assessment on our behalf,' specified Tolosa.
The Minister of Public Finances, Ioana-Maria Petrescu, Minister-delegate for Budget, Darius-Bogdan Valcov, and a technical team are set to meet next week in Brussels with the representatives of the IMF and the European Commission, informed a release of MFP on Thursday.
During the meetings, they are going to evaluate the recent economic development and the current stage of implementation of the agreed commitments on behalf of Romania.
Thus, the National Regulatory Authority in the Field of Energy (ANRE) on Thursday sent to the Ministry of Public Finances a series of documents requested by the government for the discussions with the IMF, Niculae Havrilet, the head of ANRE, said.
'We were asked, ahead of the meeting with the IMF, to prepare layouts showing the current stage that was reached in the process of liberalisation of the energy and gas markets, which we are supposed then to forward to the Ministry of Finance., We sent all the requested documents today,' Havrilet specified.
