In February 2016, the unemployment rate stood at 6.5pct, a similar level to that recorded in the previous month, down by 0.3pct year-on-year, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) announced on Friday.
The number of unemployed (aged 15-74), estimated for February 2016 was 597,000 people, down both compared to the previous month (604,000 people), as well as compared to February 2015 (626.000 people).
The estimated unemployment rate among adults (25-74), was of 5.4pct, with men representing 6pct and women representing 4.6pct. The number of unemployed aged 25-74 represented 77.3pct of the total number of unemployed forecast for the second month of the year.
Statistics show that, overall, in February the seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate stood at 6.5pct and remained unchanged since January 2016 (6.5pct). On the other hand, the unemployment rate fell by 0.3pct year-on-year.
