Unemployment in Romania stood at 5.3 percent in March, declining 0.1 percentage point from the previous month, with the number of the unemployed diminishing by up to 486,000 persons, according to data with the National Institute of Statistics (INS) published on Monday.
According to the statistics, the number of unemployed estimated for March 2017 was 486,000 persons (aged 15-74), down from the previous month (489,000), and also from the same month of the previous year (561,000 persons).
Male unemployment exceeded by 0.8 percentage women unemployment, 5.7 percent to 4.9 percent.
Furthermore, the estimated unemployment rate for adults aged 25 to 74 year was 4.3 percent in March 2017, 4.7 percent for men and 3.7 percent for women.
The number of the unemployed aged between 25 and 74 years stood at 74.2 percent of the total number of unemployed estimated for March 2017.
