In March 2018, the unemployment  rate was estimated at 4.5% 

-Unemployment rate in March 2018 decreasead with 0.1 percentages points as compared to the previous month (4.6%).

-Men’s unemployment rate was higher than that of women with 0.8 percentages points.

Romania's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in March 2018 was 4.5 percent, slightly down 0.1 percentage points from the previous month (4.6 percent), according to data released on Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

The estimated number of the unemployed (aged 15-74) in March 2018 was 415,000 people, down from the previous month (419,000 persons), and also from the same month of the previous year (472,000 persons).

By gender, the male unemployment rate exceeded by 0.8 percentage points that of female unemployment, 4.9 percent to 4.1 percent.

The estimated March 2018 adult unemployment rate (25-74 years) was 3.4 percent (3.8 percent for men and 2.8 percent for women). The unemployed aged 25-74 made up 69 percent of the total number of unemployed estimated for March 2018.

The unemployment rate is the share of the unemployed in the economically active population.
