INS: INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION PRICES DOWN 0.1% IN MAY 2017

Industrial production prices for the total (domestic market and non?domestic market) rose by 3.3% in May 2017 compared to May 2016.
Industrial production prices (domestic and foreign markets) decreased by 0.1 pct overall in May 2017 as compared to the previous month, however as against the same period last year they increased by 3.3 pct, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS), released on Tuesday.
In the energy industry, in May 2017, the total production prices (domestic and foreign markets) decreased by 1.7 pct compared to April 2017, but climbed 2.3 pct against May 2016, and in the intermediate goods industry they went up by 0.2 pct as compared to April 2017 and by 4.6 pct y-o-y.
In the mining industry, industrial production prices declined by 2.3 pct compared to April 2017 and rose by 3.9 pct compared to May 2016.
The largest decreases in May were recorded in crude oil and natural gas extraction and in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products by 5.1 pct and 7.8 pct, respectively, as compared to April 2017.
The largest increases in industrial production prices in May 2017 compared to the previous month were recorded in the manufacture of other transport equipment by 2.5 pct and in the manufacture of machinery and equipment not elsewhere classified, by 2.2 pct.
Industrial production prices declined the most in May 2017 as compared to May 2016 in mining support service activities, by 4.5 pct, and in other mining and quarrying activities by 1.7 pct. The highest growths in industrial production prices were recorded in the manufacture of coke products and refined petroleum products, by 18.1 pct, in metallurgy - plus 17.7 pct, in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, by 6.8 pct, crude oil and natural gas extraction by 6.3 pct, and manufacture of machinery and equipment not elsewhere classified by 6.4 pct.
On the other hand, industrial production prices in terms of water supply, sewerage, waste management, remediation activities decreased by 1.3 pct in May 2017 compared to the similar month in 2016 and stagnated compared to the previous month.
