International reserves decline 480 million euros, to 35.467 billion euros
Romania's international reserves (foreign exchange plus gold) at the end of February stood at 35.467 billion euros, declining 480 million euros compared with the level of 35.947 million euros registered on January 31, 2011, reports the National Bank of Romania (BNR). The foreign exchange reserves of the National Bank of Romania on February 28, 2011, stood at 32.068 billion euros, decreasing 621 million euros from the 32.689 billion euros registered at the end of January 2011.
According to the BNR data, in February the bank registered inflows worth 750 million euros, representing changes in the foreign exchange reserve requirements of the credit institutions, inflows in the Public Finances Ministry accounts, income from the management of foreign exchange reserves and others.
The outflows amounted to 1.371 billion euros, representing changes in the foreign exchange reserve requirements of the credit institutions, interest and principal payments on public and publicly guaranteed external debt, payments from the European Commission's account and other payments.
The gold stock has held steady at 103.7 tonnes. Following the change in the international price of gold, its value amounted to 3.399 billion euros.
The payments due in March 2011 in the account of the public and publicly guaranteed external debt amount to 140.85 million euros.
