Iurie Leanca meets minister Melescanu in Bucharest
Foreign minister Teodor Melescanu had a meeting on Tuesday, with Iurie Leanca, the deputy premier for European integration of Moldova, who is on a visit in Bucharest.
On the occasion, Melescanu reiterated Romania’s constant and firm support for Moldova’s European aspirations and prompted the continuation of structural reforms provided by the Association Accord between Moldova and EU, a Foreign Ministry press release shows.
The two officials reviewed the latest landmarks of relations between Romania and Moldova, and in that context, they discussed about preparing summit contacts in the following stage, as well as prospects of energy interconnection.
Other relevant aspects of the bilateral relation, such as increasing Romania’s investment presence in Moldova and bilateral sector projects were approached.
The two officials pointed out the importance of maintaining Moldova on the European agenda. Minister Melescanu mentioned the preparations made by Romanian diplomacy for the meeting of the Group for Moldova’s European Action, co-chaired by Romania and France, to be held in Brussels at the end of February.
