Local Elections2020/Final results for Bucharest: Nicusor Dan wins by 42.81% of votes
Independent candidate Nicusor Dan, endorsed by the National Liberal Party (PNL), the Save Romania Union (USR) and the Party of Liberty, Unity and Solidarity (PLUS), won the election for the office of Bucharest general mayor, having garnered 42.81% of the vote (282,631 ballot papers), according to the final vote count published on the Standing Electoral Authority (AEP) website.
Social Democratic Party (PSD) candidate, incumbent mayor Gabriela Firea, was voted by 37.97% of Bucharesters, which means 250,690 votes.
Third came in Traian Basescu, the People's Movement Party (PMP candidate) at 10.99% and 72,556 votes, followed by Florin Calinescu (Green Party) at 2.08% - 13,742 votes and Calin Popescu Tariceanu of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats (ALDE) at 1.49% and 9,892 votes. Ioan Sirbu of the Pro Bucharest Bucharest 2020 Alliance garnered 0.80%, or 5,315 votes. The other candidates received less than 5,000 votes.
Social Democratic Party (PSD) obtained 21 seats in the General Council of Bucharest (CGMB) in the local elections, followed by the the Save Romania Union and the Party of Liberty, Unity and Solidarity (USR PLUS) Alliance with 17 seats and National Liberal Party (PNL) with 12, according to the final data of the September 27 elections published on the Standing Electoral Authority's website.
At the same time, the People's Movement Party (PMP) won five seats in the CGMB.
The turnout in the September 27 local elections in Bucharest was 36.76%. There were 660,118 ballots cast, and 11,059 voided ballots.
Candidates supported by National Liberal Party (PNL) and Save Romania Union - Party of Liberty, Unity and Solidarity Alliance (USR PLUS) Clotilde Armand, Radu Mihaiu and Ciprian Ciucu won the mayoralties of Sectors 1, 2 and 6, and Robert Negoita (Pro Bucharest 2020), Daniel Baluti - Cristian Social Democratic Party (PSD) Cristian Popescu Piedone - Humanist Power Party (PPU-SL) obtained the mayoralties of Sectors 3, 4 and 5, according to the final results posted on the Standing Electoral Authority (AEP) website.
In Sector 1, Clotilde Armand, the candidate supported by PNL and the USR PLUS Alliance, won with 40.94% of the votes, respectively a number of 36,455 votes. Daniel Tudorache, the PSD candidate, gathered 39.81% of the votes, representing a number of 35,451 votes.
In the Local Council of Sector 1, PSD obtained 9 seats, the USR PLUS Alliance - 9 seats, PNL - 6 and People's Movement Party (PMP) - 3.
At Sector 2, Radu Mihaiu, the candidate supported by PNL and the USR PLUS Alliance, won with 36.90% of the votes, representing a number of 42,094 votes. Dan Cristian Popescu, the PSD candidate, obtained 31.49% and 35,920 votes, respectively.
In the Local Council of Sector 2, PSD obtained 10 seats, USR PLUS - 9, PNL - 6 and PMP - 2
At Sector 3, Robert Negoita, the candidate of the Pro-Bucharest Alliance 2020, won with 43.74%, respectively a number of 58,786 votes, and Adrian Moraru, the candidate supported by PNL and the USR PLUS Alliance, obtained 28.48%, representing a number of 38,279 votes.
In the Local Council of Sector 3, the USR PLUS Alliance obtained 9 seats, PSD - 8, PNL - 7, Pro Bucharest 2020 - 5 and PMP - 2 seats.
At Sector 4, Daniel Baluta, the PSD candidate, won with 57.03% - 58,577 votes. Simona Spataru, the candidate supported by PNL and the USR PLUS Alliance, obtained 29.87%, representing 30,688 votes.
In the Local Council of Sector 4, PSD obtained 11 seats, the USR PLUS Alliance - 9 seats, PNL - 5 and PMP - 2 seats.
At Sector 5, Cristian Popescu Piedone, the PPU-SL candidate, won with 28.08%, representing 25,902 votes, and Daniel Florea, the PSD candidate, obtained 25.63%, respectively 23,649 votes.
In the Local Council of Sector 5, PSD obtained 10 mandates, PNL - 6, USR PLUS - 5, PPU-SL - 4 and PMP - 2 seats.
In Sector 6, Ciprian Ciucu, the candidate supported by PNL and the USR PLUS Alliance, won with 43.39%, representing 54,134 votes, and Gabriel Mutu, the PSD candidate, obtained - 34.55%, i.e. 43,105 votes.
In the Local Council of Sector 6, PSD obtained 9 seats, PNL - 8, USR PLUS Alliance - 8 and PMP - 2 mandates.
