The opening of the new season of the George Enescu philarmonics – 7thand 8thOctober
The opening of the symphonic season 2020 - 2021 of the George Enescu Philarmonics will be on 7th and 8th October in the Big Hall of the Romanian Atheneum with a concert of the Philarmonics led by the English conductor Stefan Asbury.
According to a press release, the programme includes Pavane by Gabriel Faure, Concert no.1 in A minor for cello and orchestre, op.33 by Camille Saint-Saens and Symphony no.2 in D major op.36 by Ludwig van Beethoven.As soloist of the night, there will be the internationally acclaimed cellist Andrei Ionita.
The first part of the season will include conductors such as Christian Badea, Stefan Asbury, Jonathan Berman, Lior Shambadal, Theo Wolters, Jin Wang, Gian Luigi Zampieri accompanied by soloists such as pianist Daniel Ciobanu, cellist Andrei Ionita, violonists Mihaela Martin, Remus Azoitei, Florin Croitoru, violist Razvan Popovici and pianist Cristian Niculescu.
