MFP: aggregate national budget ended January 2016 with 0.63 percent of the GDP surplus
Romania's aggregate national budget ended the first month of this year on a surplus worth 4.7 billion lei, namely 0.63 percent of the GDP, from 3.95 billion lei, namely 0.56 percent of the GDP, at the same date of 2015, according to data released by the Public Finance Ministry (MFP) on Thursday.
The aggregate revenue stood at 20.4 billion lei, or 2.7 percent of the GDP, 11.1 percent higher in nominal terms from the same period of last year. Significant increases were recorded in the collection of profit taxe (+48pct), excise duties (+19.2pct), Value Added-Tax - VAT (+17pct) and social security contributions (+11.1pct).
The aggregate outlays, amounting to 15.6 billion lei, were up 8.7 percent in nominal terms from the same period of 2015 and one percentage point as a share of the GDP.
