Moody’s considers that early elections have a positive effect on the country rating for Romania, Citu said
The rating agency Moody’s says that early elections have a positive effect on the country rating for Romania, says the minister of public finances Florin Citu, on his Facebook page.
‘Early elections, positive effect for the country rating. From the very first moment we have communicated transparently and permanently with the investors, rating agencies, our institutional partners.Everything we have announced is credible. We don’t use lies. Our plan to reduce the budgetary deficit on a medium term and the transparent communication have started to have effect for the Romanians. The interests drop every day. A lower budgetary deficit means smaller inflation and lower interests for the Romanians. Yesterday (Thursday, 13th February 2020 o.n.) another good news for the PNL government. The rating agency Moody’s says that early elections have a positive effect for the country rating. At every meeting with the investors we have explained very clearly why Romania needs early elections and now we have the results of the permanent and credible communication’ says the minister.
The official notes that Romania has the support and the trust of the investors, of the rating agencies and institutional partners in the EU and US.
‘It is, I believe, the first example in history when a country passes through a difficult political situation, with an economy which was destroyed by the socialists for almost one decade, but which has support and trust from the investors, the rating agencies and the institutional partners from the EU and US. The PNL government made Romania count again. There follow fantastic things for the Romanians. I have promised so and we will do it’ Citu says.
At present, according to the data published on the site of Moody’s, the rating attributed to Romania is Baa3 with stable perspective.
