National Centre for Storage of anti-COVID-19 vaccines, fully authorised and endorsed by select authority
The National Vaccine Storage Centre against COVID-19 of the "Cantacuzino" Institute is fully authorized and endorsed by the Romanian National Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (ANMDMR), after obtaining the wholesale distribution authorization.
According to a press release sent on Wednesday by the National Committee for the Coordination of Activities on Vaccination against COVID-19, this authorisation is issued for the distribution of medicines with marketing authorisation in the Member States of the European Economic Area.
Following the receipt of authorisation from ANMDMR, the Cantacuzino National Institute for Medical-Military Research and Development may carry out, as a wholesale distributor, the storage, custody and delivery operations for medicines to which additional criteria of the type are applied: goods in accordance with Article 806 of Law 95/2006 republished: immunological medicines; products distributed in the "cold chain" (requiring handling at low temperatures), is explained in the press release.
On 26 December, the Cantacuzino Institute will receive the first symbolic instalment of 10,000 doses of vaccine against COVID-19 produced by BioNTech and Pfizer, which has been granted by the European Commission the conditional marketing authorisation. Doses will be distributed to infectious disease hospitals on the front line in the fight against COVID-19.
GCS: 5,459 new cases of COVID-19; tests carried out in past 24 hours - 25,840
A number of 5,459 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 have been recorded in the past 24 hours, after 25,840 tests were carried out at the national level, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Wednesday.
These are cases that have not previously had a positive test, says GCS.
