New orders in the processing industry up 2.8% in first two months of 2021

 New orders in the processing industry increased in nominal terms by 2.8% in the first two months of this year compared to the similar period in 2020, informs the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Thus, the new orders in the processing industry in the period January 1 - February 28, 2021, compared to the period January 1 - February 29, 2020, increased overall by 2.8% due to increases in the durable goods industry (+ 24.4%) and in the intermediate goods industry (+ 10.2%). The current goods industry decreased by 11.7%. The capital goods industry remained at the same level.

New orders in the processing industry in February 2021, compared to the previous month, increased overall by 5.6% due to increases in the intermediate goods industry (+ 9.5%) and in the capital goods industry (+ 5.1%).

Decreases were registered by the durable goods industry (-5.2%) and the current use goods industry (-0.9%).

Also, the new orders from the processing industry in February 2021, compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, increased overall by 3.1% due to the increases registered in the durable goods industry (+ 12.6%), the intermediate goods industry (+ 12.0%) and in the capital goods industry (+ 0.4%). The current use goods industry decreased by 14.0%.
