Norway gives grants of 26 million euros to 50 companies and NGOs
50 companies and NGOs were financed with Norwegian grants of 26 million euros within the program “Geen Innovation in Romanian Industry”, for ecological investments and energy efficiency which created over 200 permanent jobs.
20 projects concern investments in ecological technologies, eco innovative products and services, 16 projects are used to reduce or reuse wastes, energy efficiency and the use of renewable sources in business and 14 projects have in view innovation and development of entrepreneurial spirit, The projects were part of the program held over March 2013 -April 2016, “Green Innovation in Romanian Industry”, of 54 million euros of which 28 million euros were co-financed by private capital.
30 projects received between 200,000 and 1,500,000 euros and 20 business ideas were financed by small grants with sums between 50,000 and 200,000 euros.
Within the financing program Innovation Norway from the mechanism SEE 2009-2014, 54 contracts were signed initially but only 50 promoters approved the financing agreement. 60% of those projects have Norwegian partners, 49 of them were completed and number 50 will be ready in 2017.
At present, Norway and Romania are negotiating a new accord for 2014-2021. The main directions of the new programs were the topic of public debates while Romania was the state with most actors involved in consulting of all states financed from Norwegian money.
Green Innovation in Romanian Industry is administered by Innovation Norway, a public Norwegian company based in Oslo, owned by the Norwegian Ministry of Commerce and Regional Norwegian Municipalities. Innovation Norway is the most important instrument of the Norwegian government for innovation and development of Norwegian enterprises and industry.
